This years request for year-end statistics has been refused by the board secretary, unlike last year (07), 'citing approval in Sept-Oct.'08
We have 2 new Board members since Jan. 2007: Michael Maki, DVM of Wilton Animal Hospital (see below for MORE info) and Laurie Farrell, DVM of Capitol Area Veterinary Emergency Services, 22 Bridge St. Concord (former VP & Pres. of NH Board Brad Taylor is part-owner) Other members business associations listed on my web page, click here Susan Flint, Public Member: Where are you?? Animal Medical Center Emergency & Referral of New England , Nashua, NH new name/same owners & address as Animal Hospital of Nashua Center for Advanced Veterinary Care,Carl Dr., Manchester/new name,new location/same owners as Animal Emergency Clinic of S.NH The NH Board of Veterinary Medicine now has TWO members with complaints on file received of 'their' clinic--- Pres. Hertel of Crossroads Animal Hospital, Londonderry also Hertel was recused on 12/05 for vote, investigation by Dr. A. Tucker of Daniel Webster AH (see Eileen Petersen) and Attorney Generals Office and Maki of Wilton Animal Hospital, Wilton with AG file listed as "open"

Dr. Lee Spyridakis is the owner of Dover Veterinary Referral Hospital, where my dog Pocket languished and was inhumanely euthanized in my presence How is the Board to determine the parameters set forth in LAW? The LAW (see below) states that the companion animal shall be exempt upon the recommendation of a NH licensed veterinarian How about the vaccine insert which states NOT to administer to an animal that is NOT in GOOD health-? Who is to decide? Is there a scam to be derived or money out of this new legislation? Or will that put some crimp into the "dying pet biz"?

March 18, 2008 3. A letter was received from Catherine Bernhard,A.A.G.Administrative Prosection Unit, announcing that Attny. Sarah T. Blodgett has joined the APU and will work with her to investigate & prosecute cases referred by the Board. May 6, 2008
9. A letter was received from Dr. Lee Spyridakis and Dr. Karen Wagner, both ACVIM Diplomates, regarding the certificate of exemption from rabies vaccinations in the state. They would like the Board to set parameters for exemption. Dr. crawford will revise the exemption form to clarify that either the dog or records must be seen. Matter removed from current law appears [ Matter which is either (a) all new or (b) repealed and reenacted appears in regular type. 27Mar2007… 0209h 07-1072 01/05 STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seven AN ACT relative to a rabies immunization exemption. Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened: 79:1 Rabies; Exemption Added. Amend RSA 436:100 to read as follows: 436:100 Rabies Vaccination Required; Exemption. I. Except as provided in paragraph II, every dog, cat, and ferret 3 months of age and older shall be vaccinated against rabies. Young dogs, cats, and ferrets shall be vaccinated within 30 days after they have reached 3 months of age. Unvaccinated dogs, cats, and ferrets acquired or moved into the state shall be vaccinated within 30 days after purchase or arrival, unless under 3 months of age, as specified above. Every dog, cat, and ferret shall be revaccinated at such intervals and with such vaccines as the commissioner shall specify from time to time. In rabies infected areas, dogs, cats, and ferrets recently vaccinated shall be kept under control for at least 30 days before being allowed to run free. II. A rabies immunization exemption may be issued, where illness or a veterinary medical condition warrants, by the local rabies control authority upon the written recommendation of a veterinarian licensed under RSA 332-B. The recommendation shall also be signed by an American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine diplomate and the state veterinarian. The exempted animal shall be maintained in strict rabies isolation, under conditions that are at the discretion of the local rabies control authority, until such time as the medical condition has been resolved and the animal can be immunized against rabies. Exempted animals shall not be allowed outdoors without being on a leash and shall be under the direct physical control of an adult owner at all times. In addition, when the animal is outdoors, it shall be muzzled in a manner approved by the local rabies control authority. 79:2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2008.
